What is the maximum strokes per hole?
Par 3 = 8 strokes (6 in the fairway + 2 putts).
Par 4 and 5 = 10 strokes (8 in the fairway + 2 putts)
Why do we have a maximum strokes per hole?
To try to keep to the expected pace of play which is 14 minutes per hole or 2 hours 10 minutes for the round.
What is the penalty for hitting into the water or if I move the ball away from a tree or fence?
Add 1 stroke to the total number of shots taken. You can drop using the 2 club length rule at the spot where the ball lies. See rules doc for more details.
Why are the sand traps so challenging at at Arlington Lakes?
It is a mystery, but you can take your ball out of the sand (no closer to the hole) for a 2 stroke penalty.
What if I land on the cart path?
This is free relief, which means no penalty. This allows for only 1 club length.
What if I cannot get a sub?
Each player gets 1 'free' miss. Additional misses result in a $5 deduction in your earned prize money at the end of the season.
